Senior Real-Time VFX Artist

Responsibilities

• Work in a proprietary third party engine
• Create visually stunning and stylistically consistent VFX using a third party VFX editor like Popcorn FX
• Create relevant VFX assets such as textures, static meshes and shaders
• Collaborate with other creative disciplines and engineers to create visual effects that support gameplay systems
• Optimize effects for performance on multiple platforms

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the videogame industry
• Expert level experience with Unreal
• High level of knowledge in Popcorn FX
• Highly skilled with Photoshop, Substance or other texture authoring tools
• Proficiency in 3D software like Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, or Houdini
• Shader authoring skills using node based editors
• Fluent in English
• Strong knowledge of animation and artistic VFX principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with proprietary or third party engines
• Proficiency in Houdini, Embergen, or Liquigen
• Basic programming in C#
• Knowledge of HLSL/GLSL for VFX shader creation
• Experience with Substance Designer or Illugen
