Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and internal stakeholders to design new integrations and services for scaling the data platform
• Implement features with high standards for data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability
• Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases
• Leverage feedback to improve operational robustness and ease of use via new documentation, tools, and dashboards
• Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including event-driven pipelines and APIs

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• 2+ years focused on data engineering, data platforms, or data-centric infrastructure
• Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience with PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with data streaming and event processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis)
• Proficiency in a data-oriented programming language such as Julia, Python, or R
• Experience deploying services in containerized environments using Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform or Helm
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous remote work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Julia
• Experience in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) for API integration work
