Senior Visual Communication Designer

Playlab is a nonprofit building public infrastructure for educational AI: enabling a global community to create AI tools that reflect their needs and values. We equip communities with AI tools and hands-on professional development that empowers educators and students to build custom AI apps for their unique context.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of how Playlab shows up in the world, from concept through produced work
• Craft brand expression, storytelling, data and information, motion, interface, and print
• Turn complex systems and ideas into narratives and visuals that are intuitive and engaging
• Build and curate tooling and workflows that leverage AI to increase speed and efficiency
• Drive projects from fuzzy goals through iteration to shipped, production-grade work

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in graphic design with a focus on visual communication (brand, editorial, campaign, web)
• Proven track record in one or more additional design disciplines
• Ability to lead design projects independently while collaborating across a team
• Broad knowledge of creative tools and workflows, including AI-driven tools
• Strong production skills with the ability to take files to final, exacting formats

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in education or building in edtech
• Experience with designing creative tech
• Passion for learning environments and working with educators and students
