Job description

Responsibilities

  • Source and find user-generated content (UGC) and obtain usage permissions
  • Pitch daily weather-related content ideas for social media posts
  • Coordinate multiple sources, feeds, and personnel for social channels
  • Monitor social networks for testimonials, questions, comments, and UGC
  • Engage with users and interact with internal departments for resolution
  • Analyze data regarding AccuWeather and competitors using social media analytics tools
  • Research social network changes via industry blogs, news, and webinars
  • Create trend reports on weather-related topics and cultural conversations

Requirements

  • Pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • Experience using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms
  • Basic image editing knowledge
  • Ability to understand and explain basic scientific and meteorological concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
