Software Engineer (Data)

Responsibilities

• Partner with government stakeholders and engineering, design, and product teams to modernize data architectures and pipelines
• Design and implement scalable data models and databases
• Improve pipeline performance and security
• Build systems that support the storage, processing, and analysis of large-scale data
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Develop data engineering applications for advanced analytics, AI/ML, and experimentation
• Design, develop, test, automate, and deploy solutions on cloud platforms like AWS
• Participate in software design and code reviews
• Develop automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD for production systems

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience with Agile, TDD, CI/CD, and Source Code Management
• Experience building ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and store data
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and server-side use cases
• Experience with data cleaning, modeling, and schema design
• Proficiency with relational databases and advanced SQL (PostgreSQL)
• Experience with data observability tools
• Ability to work with API and file-based data integrations
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

• Experience with Databricks
• Experience with Snowflake
