Responsibilities

• Develop software using Agile methodologies and the KnowBe4 SDLC
• Provide technical direction and assist team members
• Define approaches and solutions to complex technical problems
• Own the evolution of major subsystems within the team's domain
• Translate strategic goals into technical roadmaps
• Set the bar for code quality through rigorous reviews and technical guidance
• Lead larger sub-projects or small projects

Requirements

• 5+ years scaling production Ruby on Rails applications
• Expertise in GraphQL and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency with modern component frameworks and TypeScript
• Deep experience with AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, S3)
• Proficiency with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD
• Experience designing event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Demonstrated Staff-level technical leadership (ADRs, design driving)
• Experience building for compliance-regulated environments (FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Comfort using modern AI coding tools
• BS degree with 10+ years experience, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a front-end framework migration end-to-end
• Experience with serverless background-processing frameworks at scale
• DynamoDB and Redis data modeling expertise
• Track record of integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows
