Staff Security Engineer, AI & Application Security

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a prioritized security roadmap and strategy
• Review architecture and design of new systems using threat modeling
• Act as a trusted AI security advisor for LLM and agentic systems
• Build and maintain an AI security framework and engineering standards
• Establish and execute an internal penetration testing program
• Manage and direct external penetration testing partners
• Perform hands-on offensive testing and red team exercises
• Conduct AI red teaming against LLM deployments (prompt injection, jailbreaks)
• Harden application and cloud security through automated testing and CI/CD
• Strengthen identity, access, and data protection controls
• Manage the technical relationship with the MDR partner (eSentire)
• Lead detection engineering and incident response efforts
• Own the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle
• Build security tooling and automation to scale impact
• Perform third-party and vendor security assessments
• Uplift engineering security culture through guidance and workshops
• Document security metrics and report risk posture to leadership

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering (offensive and defensive)
• 4+ years of hands-on offensive experience (penetration testing, red teaming)
• Proven experience securing LLM or AI systems in production
• Experience as a founding or sole security engineer
• Demonstrable history of finding and proving real vulnerabilities in production systems
• Experience hardening cloud and application environments
• Experience managing MDR or managed SOC providers
• Experience leading or supporting security incident response
• Experience influencing architecture and design decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated B2B, fintech, maritime, or logistics environments
• Certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWE, GXPN, CRTO, or CISSP
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or Engineering
