Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full lifecycle of systems from design to deployment
• Work across backend services, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
• Shape system design and evolve architecture to improve scalability
• Mentor engineers across experience levels and raise the engineering bar
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams
• Identify and solve complex problems across the codebase
• Explore and apply emerging technologies like AI-assisted development

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with Node.js and React
• Deep knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with spatial data and GIS technologies
• Hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Active daily use of agentic coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code
• Proven ability to work in collaborative, team-driven environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with LLM APIs or AI-powered features in production systems
