Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time mentoring, hints, and encouragement to students in live text-based math contest preparation classes
  • Supplement student learning experiences by answering questions during class sessions
  • Support students preparing for high-level contests such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC, AIME, and USA(J)MO
  • Maintain an engaging presence in a fast-paced, text-only online classroom environment

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong command of math content (knowledge of physics, Python, or chemistry is a plus)
  • Experience with math contests (e.g., MAA AMC 10/12, AIME, USA(J)MO)
  • Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM field
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience
  • Strong English writing and typing skills
  • Availability on Sundays from 7:20 pm – 9:00 pm ET

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed STEM degree
  • Experience with other advanced contests (e.g., F=ma, USAPhO, USACO, USNCO)
