Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Build, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain both physical and virtual infrastructure
• Ensure systems are delivered quickly with high availability
• Partner with development teams to design fast, scalable systems
• Remove performance bottlenecks from current systems
• Apply and update system upgrades, firmware, and infrastructure changes
• Proactively monitor and manage system health and configuration
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis to fulfill production needs

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience administering Linux/UNIX systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, DigitalOcean, and Linode
• Understanding of container technologies including Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of PHP configuration and optimization
• Proficiency with networking tools and technologies like HAProxy, routing, and firewalls
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, and DNS for debugging
• Scripting skills in BASH, Python, or PHP
• Experience with Nginx, MySQL, Redis, or Varnish is a distinct advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• DevOps experience
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
• Excellent communication and time-management skills
