Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of retirement plan administrators to ensure high-quality work and compliance
  • Oversee all aspects of qualified retirement plan administration and annual compliance
  • Review, authorize, and provide final quality assurance for team deliverables
  • Track workloads and manage deadlines for annual administration requirements
  • Coordinate with clients to validate census data and financial information
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex administrative and compliance issues
  • Review annual compliance testing, including nondiscrimination and coverage testing
  • Assist with and review Form 5500 preparation
  • Partner with attorneys, actuaries, and financial advisors to resolve technical issues
  • Mentor and develop team members through ongoing coaching and technical guidance

Requirements

  • 8 years of A-to-Z defined contribution retirement plan administration experience in a TPA environment
  • Active ASPPA or NIPA professional designation (QKA, QPA, CPC, APA, APR, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading and managing retirement plan administrators
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and Department of Labor regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and accounting aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering defined contribution/defined benefit (DC/DB) combination plans
  • Experience leading or managing a remote team
  • Experience with retirement plan administration platforms such as PensionPro, ASC, Relius, FT Williams, or Datair
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Mathematics
