Technical Translator

Responsibilities

• Perform technical translations for IT content, including Software User Interfaces, print documentation, and online help systems
• Conduct linguistic reviews and quality assurance (QA) to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Manage terminology consistency through the use of Translation Memories (TMs), glossaries, and style guides
• Execute Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) tasks
• Assist with project management tasks such as content coordination, scheduling, and reporting

Requirements

• Native Norwegian speaker with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years of experience in the localization industry, specifically working with major IT accounts
• Extensive expertise in technical translation for Software UI and technical documentation
• Proficiency with SDL Studio and other CAT tools
• Working knowledge of XML or other markup languages
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Ability to work flexibly to meet project needs, including occasional weekend work and varying time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience translating content containing embedded variables in an XML environment
• Strong editorial skills
• Demonstrated ability to independently learn and adapt to proprietary localization toolsets
