YouTube Video Editor

Responsibilities

• Edit full-length podcast episodes into polished, YouTube-ready cuts (40–75 minutes)
• Craft intentional opening hooks to drive viewer curiosity without using clickbait
• Apply subtle visual enhancements including zooms, reframes, on-screen text, and light graphics
• Manage pacing in long-form content to maintain engagement and authenticity
• Identify and extract high-potential moments for 30–90 second vertical clips
• Produce platform-native Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with bold captions and instant hooks
• Collaborate with the content producer to interpret briefs and iterate on editorial direction
• Maintain organized project files and consistent delivery standards

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience editing video content specifically for YouTube
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
• Proven experience editing short-form vertical content for Instagram Reels or TikTok
• Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, retention strategy, and audience psychology
• A portfolio demonstrating range, including long-form and compelling talking-head content
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate editorial decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in thought leadership, podcasting, or personal brand media
• Familiarity with Simon Sinek’s body of work and core ideas
• Experience using AI-assisted editing tools or advanced subtitle/caption workflows
• Experience with After Effects or motion graphics
