Job description
Responsibilities
- Drive assigned account growth by prospecting, developing, and closing new business while expanding relationships with existing accounts
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for healthcare providers, including physicians, genetic counselors, and staff
- Proactively identify risks to customer satisfaction, adoption, or retention and coordinate cross-functional action plans
- Analyze account utilization trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for expanded testing adoption and revenue growth
- Deliver tailored, consultative sales presentations to communicate the value of GeneDx’s solutions and services
- Coordinate and execute both in-person and virtual client meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
- Lead business reviews with key stakeholders to evaluate account performance and strengthen strategic partnerships
- Lead educational efforts including in-office appointments, regional conferences, and physician engagement initiatives
- Maintain high field presence, with an expectation of 4.5 days per week spent in the field with clients
- Document customer opportunities and interactions in CRM
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of healthcare sales experience or 2+ years as a genetic counselor
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (account management, client success, or sales)
- Proven ability to solve complex, cross-functional customer challenges
- Strong relationship development and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent listening, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools preferred
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to travel for in-person client meetings, including occasional evenings, weekends, and overnights
