AI-First iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple AI coding agents to design, build, test, and ship iOS features using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
• Take end-to-end ownership of iOS app slices including discovery, architecture, implementation, and QA
• Manage an "engineer-as-a-team" workflow using agents for spec drafting, codegen, and code review
• Design prompts, evals, and harnesses to make AI-assisted mobile development repeatable
• Implement automation using Fastlane, CircleCI, and TestFlight
• Monitor production health using Sentry, Datadog, Cloudflare, and Firebase
• Mentor contractor teams on AI-native workflows

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional iOS development experience
• Demonstrable fluency with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
• Strong expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
• Experience with Coordinator/AppController patterns and protocol-driven services
• Experience integrating with JSON:API-style backends and Shopify APIs
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize production issues
• Excellent written communication skills for distributed async work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing custom agents or MCP tools
• Deep experience with Combine and async/await
• Proficiency with CocoaPods, Fastlane, and CircleCI
• Familiarity with Shopify, Heap, Braze, and Sentry
• Experience in subscription or e-commerce mobile development
