Job description
Responsibilities
- Conduct self-directed research on ambitious, high-risk AI/ML projects with potential for order-of-magnitude improvements
- Spend approximately 80% of time on independent research and up to 20% assisting other fellows or participating in wider research programs
- Target publication at top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR with accompanying code releases
- Produce a final report or blog post if refereed publication thresholds are unmet
Requirements
- Demonstrated self-directed research experience with publications showing ability to do good independent work
- Strong programming skills and background in ML/AI research
- Ability to work independently and pursue ambitious projects that may not produce results
- Interest in high-risk, high-impact research rather than incremental improvements
