Job Description

Description xAI’s mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission. As an AI Tutor specializing in Japanese, your primary role will be to generate high-quality, accurately labeled data, specifically in Japanese, to improve our models. You will work closely with our technical team to produce datasets intended for model training and benchmarking. You will play a crucial role in improving our products and services by ensuring high-quality and accurately labeled data.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize proprietary software to input and label data for designated projects entirely in Japanese.
  • Ensure the delivery of top-tier curated data with an emphasis on Japanese language nuances.
  • Collaborate on the design of annotation tools, enhancing efficiency for Japanese-specific data handling.
  • Participate in various writing projects to enhance our generative AI models, with focus on Japanese data.

Requirements

  • Native proficiency in Japanese; candidates originally from Japan or those who have spent considerable time there are preferred.
  • Excellent command of the Japanese language, both in spoken and written form, across informal and professional contexts.
  • Strong research skills, and the ability to navigate various sources of information, databases, and online resources in Japanese are essential.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, particularly in a Japanese cultural context.
  • Expert level of reading comprehension in Japanese and the ability to make informed judgments with limited data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in technical writing, journalism, or professional writing with a focus on Japanese content.
  • A strong passion for and commitment to technological advancements and innovation.

Benefits The pay for this role may range from $35/hour - $65/hr and, for full-time roles, benefits will include medical, vision, dental, STD, LTD and life insurance. (TBD)
