Application Characterization Analyst

Responsibilities

• Document application characterization profiles within the organizational portfolio.
• Identify the purpose, criticality, technologies, and high-level dependencies of each application.
• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to complete, contrast, and validate gathered information.
• Perform information gathering through interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
• Synthesize complex information into clear, traceable structures to support decision-making.
• Interact effectively with technical, functional, and business teams.

Requirements

• Solid experience in information gathering and requirements elicitation.
• Proficiency in conducting interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
• Ability to interact with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• General knowledge of enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical thinking and information structuring skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality executive and technical documentation.
• Essential knowledge or experience with iSeries / AS/400 systems, including understanding legacy applications, batch processes, and platform limitations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in software development.
