Application Developer

Responsibilities

• Develop applications including user interfaces, workflows, and APIs supporting DHS geospatial systems
• Design, build, and maintain applications integrating with geospatial data platforms and enterprise systems
• Support development and maintenance of geospatial applications across cloud and on-premise environments
• Develop and maintain scripts and automated workflows for data processing and validation
• Support integration of geospatial data services, including REST-based services and APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission requirements into technical solutions
• Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application performance and scalability
• Participate in system design and implementation across the full software development lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with DHS standards, security requirements, and architecture guidelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, GIS, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in application development
• Experience developing user interfaces, workflows, and APIs
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
• Experience working with APIs and integrating REST-based services
• Experience supporting geospatial or data-driven applications
• Familiarity with SDLC practices, including testing and deployment
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government or DHS programs
• Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS or other geospatial platforms
• Experience working in cloud environments
• Experience with scripting and automation for data processing workflows
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
