Applied AI Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of AI agent workflows and LLM-powered application components
• Build and test prompt strategies, retrieval flows, tool-use logic, and orchestration patterns
• Assist in defining evaluation metrics, running benchmarks, and analyzing failure cases
• Improve system performance regarding quality, latency, reliability, safety, and cost
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and improve production AI systems
• Contribute to backend services, APIs, internal tools, or lightweight user interfaces

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Expected graduation in 2026 or 2027
• Proficiency in Python or Java
• Familiarity with backend engineering, APIs, and debugging
• Ability to commit to a 6-month full-time internship
• Strong curiosity about LLMs, AI agents, and automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal projects involving LLM applications, agent systems, or AI-assisted development
• Familiarity with OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, Hugging Face, LangChain, or vector databases
• Experience with Git, databases, backend services, or cloud platforms
