Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and build agentic AI systems to handle complex, multi-step business processes
• Design and deploy MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to expose structured access to core product and operational data
• Embed with internal business teams to discover data access gaps and prototype solutions
• Design systems with HIPAA-compliant data handling, role-based access control, and observability
• Write high-quality, production-grade code using Python, TypeScript, and AI-assisted tools like Claude Code
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into clean technical designs
• Define and instrument success metrics such as time saved, error rates, and cost reduction

Requirements

• 6–10 years of software engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, system design, SQL, and application integration
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems (LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, tool/function calling)
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with MCP server development or equivalent tool/API integration layers
• Experience with Workato or similar iPaaS platforms
• Background in enterprise applications like Salesforce or NetSuite
• Strong command of SQL and data modeling
• Fluency with REST APIs, OAuth2, webhooks, and error handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, health tech, or regulated environments (HIPAA)
• Experience with event-driven architecture or message queues
• Knowledge of AI observability and evaluation frameworks
• Experience with vector databases, semantic search, or embedding pipelines
• Experience building Claude skills, plugins, or custom prompt libraries
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms like Glean
