Job description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries regarding billing, account balances, and financial policies
  • Manage inbound patient phone calls and secure messages with empathy and professionalism
  • Process patient payments and manage payment plans in accordance with company policies
  • Educate patients about financial assistance programs and guide them through the application process
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation of all account activity

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in patient financial services, patient billing, or healthcare customer service
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and patient billing systems
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculating payments and balances
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience processing payments and setting up payment plans
  • Experience assisting patients with financial assistance programs
