Arabic OPI/VRI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Arabic-English interpretation via OPI (Over-the-Phone) and VRI (Video Remote Interpreting)
• Facilitate communication in healthcare and medical settings with specialized terminology
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter standards of practice
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply strong memory retention skills
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Comply with dress code and technical requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Native Arabic speaker with fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Healthcare industry certifications preferred (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
• Windows 10+ or MacBook/Chromebook with dual core 2GHz processor and 8GB RAM
• Noise-cancelling wired headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• External Full HD camera with gray backdrop and ring light
• Computer configured to operate in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
