Assignment Editor

Responsibilities

• Drive Entertainment Coverage Across the Gulf: Strategically manage and assign entertainment content, stills and video, in the UAE and neighboring markets.
• Plan & Execute Coverage: Produce and coordinate a roster of content creators for high-profile events - film premieres, concerts, festivals, fashion weeks, influencer activations, award shows.
• Leverage Local Networks: Cultivate and nurture relationships with publicists, agencies, venue organizers, media groups, and entertainment clients to ensure seamless access and informed coverage.
• Campaign and Storyline Development: Bring creative flair to scheduling coverage that aligns with regional content trends - working with regional stakeholders to identify compelling narratives.
• Operational Leadership On-site: Lead the execution at events - from credentialing and logistics to managing crew flow and troubleshooting under pressure.
• Collaborate with Global Teams: Liaise effectively with editorial producers, photo and video teams, and senior editors across the Getty Images network to align local coverage strategies with global goals.
• Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor and interpret regional entertainment movements and media behavior to optimize Getty’s content relevance and resonance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in entertainment content production within the UAE or GCC
• Established relationships with key regional entertainment stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience managing creatives and delivering content under tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and logistical management capabilities
• Comfort with flexible working arrangements and willingness to travel
• Fluent in Arabic and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing editorial, event or lifestyle coverage
• Proficiency in other regional languages
