Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

• Supervise a specific team of accountants and ensure the accuracy of financial statements
• Deliver financial statements within required client delivery dates
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding property financial performance
• Oversee rent roll reviews, bank reconciliations, and monthly operating results against budget
• Coordinate with operational teams to prepare and approve property financial budgets
• Implement departmental goals, policies, and operating procedures in coordination with leadership
• Participate in hiring and annual performance reviews for accounting staff
• Support assistant controllers in responding to financial audit requests

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA eligibility or CPA certification preferred
• Previous 3rd party multi-family property management experience
• Previous experience leading or managing a team of accountants
• Strong critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
• Deep understanding of financial concepts
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
