Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities and ensure financial statement data aligns with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Manage and supervise assigned staff, providing guidance and escalation support
• Review and approve staff accounting entries for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with Accounting Systems implementation, including GL, travel, expense, and reconciliation tools
• Participate in the review and interpretation of technical accounting for leases, taxes, and income recognition
• Develop streamlined processes for allocations between company segments, branches, and partners
• Supervise month-end close process and general ledger personnel
• Prepare or supervise regulatory reporting including FR2900, Reg W, and FHLB audits
• Perform monthly analysis of revenue, expense, and budget variances
• Assist with preparation of financial schedules for internal and external auditors
• Ensure department compliance with internal policies and regulatory rules

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including banking experience
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing staff
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work a standard Pacific time zone schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Experience with Oracle ERP and Fusion GL
