Associate Director - Creative

Responsibilities

• Define and elevate Careem’s visual identity and design systems across all brands and services.
• Develop insight- and data-driven creative campaigns delivering strong business results.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of designers, art directors, motion artists, and content creators.
• Guide the look and feel of campaigns and content across all platforms, both online and offline.
• Ensure all visual content aligns with Careem’s brand principles, from campaign visuals to UI design and motion graphics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, communications, and growth teams.
• Champion the use of generative AI tools for scalable, high-quality creative content generation.
• Oversee quality control for all creative output, ensuring consistency and impact.
• Maintain and evolve the Careem brand to remain both globally consistent and locally relevant.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in design and art direction roles, including at least 3 years in senior creative leadership.
• Strong portfolio with world-class design, campaign, and storytelling across brand, digital, and film.
• Proven experience in leading and scaling creative teams (in-house or agency).
• Deep understanding of visual systems, typography, color theory, layout, and motion.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, After Effects, and AI creative platforms (e.g., Midjourney, Runway).
• Impeccable taste and attention to detail.
• Strategic, confident communicator with senior-level presentation skills.
• Passion for impactful brand building and creative business growth.
