Associate Director, Development Project Management

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of integrated project plans aligning program strategy, milestones, and dependencies
• Partner with sub-team functional leads to ensure realistic and aligned execution plans
• Drive cross-functional execution by monitoring progress against timelines, resources, and critical path activities
• Facilitate productive team meetings and ensure clear accountability for decisions and actions
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
• Develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and escalation recommendations
• Support governance and leadership forums by preparing decision-focused materials and status updates
• Ensure timely communication of key program priorities and risks across stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, execution, and operational processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business, or operations discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• Minimum 8 years of project/program management experience in life sciences
• Strong understanding of end-to-end drug development business processes
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools like Microsoft Project, Planisware Enterprise, or Smartsheet

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in science, business, or operations
• Experience in late-phase development or late-stage asset planning
• Experience supporting NDA, BLA, or MAA regulatory submissions
• PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certification
