Associate Editor (Data Integrity)

Responsibilities

• Support data transparency by reviewing datasets for clarity, completeness, and alignment with journal standards
• Check metadata and documentation to ensure authors provide accessible, well-structured metadata
• Identify gaps, missing information, inconsistencies, or unclear methods to the editorial team
• Promote good practice in responsible data handling, open science, and ethical research behaviors
• Work collaboratively within shared workflows to contribute to an inclusive editorial environment

Requirements

• Background in ecology or a related discipline
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with ecological datasets
• Clear, accessible written communication
• Experience with data management, coding, or reproducible research
• Familiarity with open data platforms such as Dryad or Zenodo
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in ecological publishing and editorial processes
