Associate Linux Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products
• Take ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web
• Act as a customer advocate and ensure cases are handled according to SLAs
• Contribute to and maintain technical knowledge base articles
• Draft and distribute technical notices for internal and external communication
• Participate in a regular weekend working rotation

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject (Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
• Experience with Linux troubleshooting, including log collection and configuration editing
• Knowledge or hands-on experience in at least two of: Linux server administration, programming (Bash, Perl, Ruby, JS, C/C++, Go), networking, or virtualization/cloud concepts
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting virtualized environments (KVM, VirtualBox, VMware)
• Experience with open-source desktop technologies
• Active contribution to open-source projects, forums, or code
