Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of automation specialists across multiple engineering centers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the engineering teams on all technical matters.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
  • Draft and review software requirements specification documentation.
  • Responsible for budgeting and cost forecasting within the automation specialism.
  • Prioritize, deliver, and manage automation requirements.
  • Adopt a risk-averse stance by reviewing risks and proposing mitigation solutions.
  • Manage the development and implementation of custom tools using Autodesk Platform Services, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Bentley ProjectWise.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of custom add-ons for Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, and ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
  • Analyze code, evaluate quality, readability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Ensure UI/UX design quality.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing automation tools.
  • Lead complex automation tool development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Generate detailed reports, including KPI reporting.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to senior management.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in ESRI, Autodesk, and Bentley software.
  • Utilize version control systems like Git and Bitbucket.
  • Implement Agile/Scrum methodology to drive project timelines and deliverables.
  • Use project management software such as Jira to track progress and manage sprints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading technical teams.
  • Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks) and GIS platforms (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS).
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies and programming languages.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in BIM, GIS, or relevant automation technologies.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects in the Middle East.
