Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-powered workflows and backend systems
• Design solutions that combine APIs, scripts, and AI agents
• Work with internal teams to understand problems and turn them into technical solutions
• Prototype quickly and improve/harden systems over time
• Optimize solutions such as reducing token usage and improving performance
• Debug and adapt systems when they fail
• Document work and explain technical reasoning clearly

Requirements

• Solid programming fundamentals, preferably in Python
• Comfort working with APIs and building integrations
• Ability to build solutions without relying entirely on AI tools
• Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
• Clear communication skills
• High level of curiosity and ownership

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems, scripts, or APIs
• Projects combining code and AI implementation
• Understanding of underlying system architecture
• Experience debugging or improving existing systems
• Exposure to automation tools like Zapier, Make, or n8n
• Experience with data pipelines, scraping, or workflow automation
