Backend Rust Engineer - Options Trading

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance low latency options trading systems within a fully remote engineering team.
• Develop scalable systems architectures and create simple, extendable APIs.
• Take full ownership of features from collecting requirements through deployment.
• Collaborate within a globally distributed team using asynchronous communication.
• Balance short-term business demands with long-term technical strategy.
• Solve high-impact business problems for a rapidly growing options business unit.
• Operate with an operational mindset, ensuring reliable infrastructure and smooth deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with low latency and/or data-heavy (trading) systems.
• Deep expertise in Rust and/or C/C++ (with willingness to master Rust).
• Experience with unit/integration/functional testing.
• Strong knowledge or keen interest in options trading is essential.
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases and protobuf protocols (or similar).
• Ability to work independently in an autonomous, remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with exchange connectivity and/or FPGA technologies.
• Background in high frequency trading environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and architectural system design skills.
• Excellent communication and team-collaboration skills.
