Bengali Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Bengali-English interpretation for OPI and VRI calls in healthcare and legal settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Follow interpreter code of conduct and maintain professional dress code for video sessions
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific terminology standards
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and maintain high customer service standards

Requirements

• Native fluency in Bengali and fluent English proficiency
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical and/or legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows 10+ computer with dual-core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or better)
• 8 GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode
• Wired ethernet connection (Wi-Fi not permitted)
• Minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload speeds
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone
• No Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or mobile devices permitted
