Bulgarian<>English OPI/VRI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Bulgarian<>English interpretation for OPI and VRI calls in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients per industry standards
• Maintain professional conduct and comply with dress code requirements for video interpreting
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply specialized medical terminology knowledge
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Report to team leadership and maintain high customer service standards

Requirements

• Native Bulgarian speaker with fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• High school diploma in native language
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated high-speed wired internet: minimum 20 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not permitted)
• Windows 10 or higher operating system
• Computer with dual core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior) and 8GB RAM minimum
• Wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)
• Single device operation in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
