Responsibilities
Own the full sales cycle for CMC’s API products — from prospecting and demo to close and expansion Identify and engage new API customers across exchanges, DeFi protocols, fintech platforms, data aggregators, and institutional/TradFi firms Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified API opportunities, tracking progress and forecasting revenue Understand client data needs and propose the right API tier, endpoints, and integration approach Serve as the primary point of contact between API clients and internal teams (product, engineering, support) for onboarding and issue resolution Expand revenue from existing API clients by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities Stay current on competitor API offerings, pricing, and market trends to sharpen CMC’s positioning Collaborate with Product to relay client feedback and influence the API roadmap
Requirements
3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally selling API/data/SaaS products Strong network within the crypto industry — exchanges, DeFi, fintech, or institutional crypto Solid understanding of APIs, data products, and how technical buyers evaluate them Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets Fluency in English (native level); additional languages are a bonus Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment BS/BA in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling crypto market data or financial data APIs specifically Familiarity with REST/WebSocket APIs and developer documentation Existing relationships with exchanges, trading desks, or institutional crypto firms Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
