Job description
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize new mission opportunities across commercial, civil (NASA), and national security space customers
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective customers, prime contractors, and government program offices
- Develop account plans and lead executive-level customer briefings
- Lead capture strategy including competitive assessment, win themes, and price-to-win
- Partner with Mission Management to translate customer needs into executable mission concepts
- Drive proposal development and own customer-facing narratives and value propositions
- Shape opportunities pre-RFP through white papers, RFI responses, and demonstrations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the space or aerospace industry
- At least 4 years in business development, capture, or customer-facing program roles
- Proven track record of winning space-related contracts
- Technical understanding of space missions, spacecraft, ground systems, and launch
- Familiarity with the U.S. space ecosystem (NASA, Space Force, NRO, DoD/IC)
- U.S. person status as defined by ITAR
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an engineering, physics, or technical management discipline
- Active U.S. government security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI)
- Experience leading capture for space missions exceeding $10M
- Established relationships with U.S. government space customers or prime contractors
- Experience with rideshare, hosted payload, or ISAM mission constructs
- Familiarity with mission assurance standards and government acquisition pathways
- PMP or INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification
