Cambodian-English Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Cambodian and English speakers in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter standards of practice
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure precise information retention
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and comply with dress code requirements for video sessions

Requirements

• Native fluency in Cambodian and fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Additional experience in legal or specialized medical interpretation
