Cambodian VRI/OPI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally following the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients in healthcare and legal settings
• Apply industry-specific vocabulary and standards of practice
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Fluent in English and native in Cambodian
• High school diploma in your native language
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical and legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare certifications preferred (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet: minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• Windows 10+ operating system, Intel Core i5+ processor, 8GB RAM minimum
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)
• Computer must operate in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
• No Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or external devices permitted
