Cambodian VRI/OPI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Apply specialized vocabulary for healthcare and medical contexts
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients with accuracy and completeness
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Report to team leadership and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Cambodian and fluent English
• High school diploma in your native language
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical and legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cross-cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet: minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• Windows 10+ PC with Intel Core i5+ or equivalent dual-core 2 GHz processor
• 8GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)
• Single device only—no external monitors, Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or phones permitted
