Cantonese-English Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Cantonese and English for healthcare and legal sectors
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional standards per interpreter code of conduct and dress code for video calls
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific terminology
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and deliver highest level of customer service

Requirements

• Native fluency in Cantonese and fluent English
• High school diploma
• 1+ years OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cross-cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Prior experience with interpretation in healthcare or legal settings
