Cantonese Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Cantonese and English for healthcare and medical calls
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Follow interpreter code of conduct and maintain professional dress code for video calls
• Take notes during calls and apply industry-specific medical terminology
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leader and maintain high customer service standards

Requirements

• Native Cantonese speaker with fluent English proficiency
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology preferred but not required

Preferred Qualifications

• International certifications in healthcare interpretation (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Prior experience with OPI/VRI platforms in a professional setting
