Cantonese Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Cantonese-English interpretation for OPI and VRI calls in healthcare and legal settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Follow interpreter code of conduct and maintain professional dress code for video sessions
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific terminology
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leader and maintain high customer service standards

Requirements

• Native fluency in Cantonese and fluent English
• High school diploma
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cross-cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International certifications in healthcare interpretation (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Prior experience with healthcare or legal interpreting
• Familiarity with remote interpreting platforms and protocols
