Care Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage appointment scheduling, notifications, reminders, and troubleshooting
• Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients, provider offices, insurance companies, and labs
• Prepare and manage care documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Support clinicians with prompt responses and high attention to detail
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with the team to deliver a high-quality patient experience

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year experience in a healthcare-based patient service role
• Proficiency in computer software including EMR, word processing, and spreadsheets
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for a virtual environment
• Knowledge of medical record management, medical terminology, and healthcare billing practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Athena platform
• Experience with medical billing submission and troubleshooting
• Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams
• Experience with specialist referral processes and insurance authorization
• Multi-lingual capabilities
