Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism via phone, video, email, slack, text, and patient portal messages
• Complete a high volume of prior authorizations
• Perform clinical administrative functions within scope of certification
• Manage pharmacy refills, lab results, medical records, and patient messages following provider instructions
• Remain in compliance with HIPAA and protect all patient health information (PHI)

Requirements

• National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) from NHA, AMT, or AAMA
• Prior experience utilizing the CoverMyMeds system
• Experience submitting prior authorizations for weight loss medications electronically and over the phone
• 2+ years of current AthenaOne outpatient EMR experience (must have used in 2024 and 2025)
• 5+ years of overall EMR experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (post externship)
• Telehealth or remote work experience
