Chuukese Interpreter - Remote OPI/VRI

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Chuukese-English interpretation for OPI/VRI calls in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter code of ethics
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure accuracy
• Apply medical terminology standards and participate in ongoing training
• Facilitate clear communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients
• Report to team leads and comply with dress code for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Chuukese and fluent English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International certifications in healthcare interpretation (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Awareness of legal terminology
• Experience with high-volume call environments
