ClickHouse Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Automate, manage, and maintain ClickHouse infrastructure as the company scales toward trillions of events per year.
• Handle ClickHouse operations, scaling infrastructure, and node/instance-level performance optimization.
• Build systems and automations for provisioning and scaling large ClickHouse clusters handling over 100 PB of data.
• Investigate and experiment with latest cloud hardware to find optimal setups for workloads.
• Use Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes to automate dynamic provisioning.
• Work on bleeding-edge ClickHouse implementations, such as open format backed tables.
• Develop query performance tooling and work on a query optimizer for ClickHouse.

Requirements

• Deep experience with OLAP Databases (specifically ClickHouse internals).
• Experience automating dynamic instance provisioning.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing high-scale, complex data storage solutions.
• Proficiency with Python, AWS, and Zookeeper (or alternatives).
• Ability to work in a natively remote, async-first environment.
