Cloud FinOps Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for AWS cloud expenditures
• Lead cost evaluation for AWS resource requests including compute, storage, and networking
• Leverage AWS-native and third-party FinOps tools to identify cost optimization opportunities
• Analyze resource utilization to recommend rightsizing, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances
• Provide cloud cost insights and financial reporting to leadership and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain cloud cost allocation models, tagging standards, and chargeback processes
• Collaborate with AWS representatives to maximize cost savings

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain Department of Education Public Trust clearance
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud financial management or FinOps
• Hands-on experience supporting AWS environments and cost analysis
• Proficiency with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and Cost and Usage Reports (CUR)
• Strong understanding of AWS pricing models, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Department of Education clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, or Computer Science
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or AWS certifications
• Experience supporting Federal civilian agencies
