CMS/Sepsis Data Abstractor

Responsibilities

• Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry/case information from patient medical records
• Ensure quality submission of data in specified registries or measure data repositories
• Prioritize and meet tight deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks
• Navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools
• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, and abstraction guidelines
• Stay updated on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements

Requirements

• At least 1 year of direct Core Measures and Sepsis abstraction experience within the last calendar year
• Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• High standards for accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain PHI security and confidentiality
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct clinical care experience
• RN or LPN credential
