Coding Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage operational coding functions within the Health Information Management Department
• Recruit, staff, orient, and develop coding personnel
• Ensure compliance with AHA, AMA, and CMS Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Monitor staff productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
• Collaborate with the Coding Education and Quality Coordinator for on-the-job training
• Establish collaborative relationships with Medical Staff and Revenue Cycle Leadership
• Assist in the development of Revenue Cycle goals, objectives, and policies

Requirements

• 5-7 years of coding and leadership experience
• Extensive knowledge in Pediatric coding specialty
• Thorough understanding of Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) and All Pat
• Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and coding software
• Completion of Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology courses
• Ability to manage teams using AI for process improvements
• Current certification in CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CMPA, RHIA, or RHIT
